At the end of each Mass, January 14 to 22, the priest or deacon will lead us in a Novena prayer for the protection of the lives of the unborn, as follows:
Pope Francis, on World Children’s Day, said the following…
“Every Child needs to be welcomed and defended, helped and protected, from the moment of their conception.”
As we prepare to remember January 22nd, the Anniversary of the Supreme Court Decision, Roe vs. Wade (1973), we will pray as a community a novena (9 days), praying a Hail Mary at every Mass from January 14th to January 22nd. We pray this with the intention for “the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life”.
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
This appeal was part of the national USCCB Walking With Moms in Need campaign. The supplies you donated will aid mothers in the Dallas Diocese at the local Catholic pregnancy and maternity resource centers. As you can see from the picture, St. Jude collected some five dozen packages, which the St. Jude Gospel of Life Ministry will deliver this Saturday, January 16, at the annual Roe vs. Wade Memorial Mass at the Cathedral in downtown Dallas. Thank you, St. Jude parishioners, for your great generosity!
After the 8:30 AM Mass on the third Saturday of each month, join us in carpooling to the Southwest Women’s Surgery Center to peacefully pray for an end to abortion and for the health and safety of the mothers and their unborn children. Meet outside the east entrance of the church. We leave at about ten minutes after Mass and return to St. Jude by about 11:00. The clinic address is 8616 Greenville Ave., Suite 101, Dallas, Texas 75243.
