RCIA Sessions begin in September and are generally held from 6:45 - 8:30 pm in the Parish Hall. This year, due to the pandemic, classes will be held virtually via Zoom.
All are invited to attend - whether you want more information about what it means to be confirmed as a Catholic (receive the Sacrament of Confirmation), or if you want to become more knowledgeable about your faith, RCIA is the place to begin! If you would like more information, check our FAQ.
RCIA refers to the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is a series of classes and gatherings to prepare adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist, and into full communion with the Catholic Church. It is the principal means used to introduce the Catholic Faith to those who are interested in becoming Catholics. The RCIA program is a discernment process and does not require a commitment to become Catholic – it is fully up to the participant if, through attending the program, they feel a calling to become united with the Church through its Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist).
RCIA classes meet in our Parish Hall on Tuesday evenings from September through the following Easter. The culmination of this preparation occurs at Easter Vigil celebration, the Saturday before Easter Sunday, when those who have been preparing receive the Sacraments of Initiation and are received into full communion with the Church.
The RCIA is open to any Adult, including those who have no knowledge or experience with any religion. Younger people (under 18 years of age) are offered separate programs by St. Jude. Anyone asking questions about “How to Become Catholic” is invited to the “Inquiry Sessions” that are held during the summer months on Saturdays in the Pastoral Center. See the calendar for specific dates. We are here to welcome you, introduce you to the team and talk about our faith. Just come and visit…child care is provided by reservation through the Nursery.
