"Train the young in the way they should go;even when old, they will not swerve from it." Proverbs 22:6
The most precious gift that God has given us is our children. While they receive our care and love, what they give, even to a whole parish community, is far more important. They show us the very innocence and wonder of God. Our service to our children in handing on to them our faith is the link that builds the Body of Christ, both now and in the future. There is no greater gift that can be given than to teach a child about God's love for them.
Religious Education is the teaching program of the Catholic Church. These classes are taught to school age children (Pre-K through 6th Grade) to learn the basic doctrines of the Church. These are also years of sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. All children need to be enrolled in and regularly attend religious education classes. While parents are a child's primary teacher, our goal is to assist you with your child's faith formation.
The religious education program for Children's Ministry is intended to support parents in educating their children about the Catholic faith. Every year of religious education builds on the previous years learned information. It is important for children to continue learning about their faith all through their lifetime, not just during their sacramental preparation years.
